Army chief visits 2 battalions in Davao region

The Commanding General of the Philippine Army visited the 60th and 69th Infantry Battalions on October 13 and 14 respectively.

Lt. Gen. Arturo B. Ortiz visited the Charlie Company of the 60IB stationed in Barangay Poblacion, Laak, Compostela Valley Province on Oct. 13, 2011. Lt. Col. Greg. T. Almerol, commander of 60IB received the CGPA. The CGPA, accompanied by his staff, listened to the concerns of the soldiers and shared laughter and his words of wisdom with the foot soldiers.

On Oct. 14, 2011, Lt. Gen. Ortiz went to the Charlie Company of 69th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Mabunao, Panabo City. Col. Norman Oliver E.  Febiar, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade, and Lt. Col. Alfredo P. Patarata received the CGPA. Afterwards, Lt. Gen. Ortiz listened and spoke to the troops.

The Chief of the Army came from his visit to line units of the 4th Infantry Division before his stop over at the 10th Infantry Division.

Lt. Gen. Arturo B. Ortiz is a recipient of Medal for Valor, the highest military award for extraordinary accomplishment in combat.

His previous visits in 10ID include the closing ceremony of the Company Commander’s symposium wherein he personally listened to the concerns of the company commanders and directed his staff to act on the concerns.
