Davao Light’s siren continues to sound

In the past, most people could not afford to buy a watch. Some used the radio for time check. Most depended on company alarm sirens.

But, most company alarm sirens in Davao City have gone silent. Except for Davao Light’s.

Through the years, the power firm’s siren serves the communities within reach in many ways. The alarm sets off four times a day. At the start of the day’s work at 7 am and end at 5 pm. Also for lunch break at 12 noon and 1 pm.

Many synchronize their time pieces with Davao Light’s time as it follows Philippine Standard Time.

In this electronic age many can afford a watch or other gadgets that tell time. Still downtown Dabawenyos anticipate the alarm.

Davao Light not just lights up the city; it also defines the time.
