Davao council aspirant banks expertise on education, business to win

DAVAO CITY — A young city council aspirant is banking on his expertise as an educator and an entrepreneur to be his edge to be elected in the May 13, 2013 mid-term elections.

Angelo Abelardo “Apo” Aportadera said he was unfazed of the presence of veteran and seasoned politicians as his rivals in the city council race in the second district.

“As an independent candidate, I will just campaign banking on my slogan APO MISMO to tell the people that it is now the right time to vote for a candidate who will immediately attend to their needs,” Aportadera said in an interview Tuesday afternoon.

He admitted that he fell short of preparation when he ran and lost in the May 10, 2010 national and local elections but this time with a solid Apo Mismo team he is confident that he could already make it to the eight slots.

Aportadera ranked 14th in the last polls while his cousin, Mikey Aportadera, who did not run this time, ranked 10th. Ranking 9th at that time was former councilor  Gerard Anthony Bangoy, who is now running again this time.
