BOC-Davao port gets two major awards

The Bureau of Customs Davao got two major awards during the bureau’s 111th founding anniversary held at the Malacañang sa Sugbu at Cebu City last February 6, 2013.

BOC-Davao district collector Martiniano Bangcoy said that the Davao port vested others to emerge as the best port in the country in the medium category for surpassing its assigned quota in 2012 and for winning as the most consistent port (five times in a row) to hit its revenue collection target.

Bangcoy said he personally received the two recognitions from Budget Secretary Cesar Purisima, Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares, Customs Commissioner Ruffino Biazon and Acting Cebu governor Agnes Magpale.

He said he was very elated of the awards that their hard work paid off, boosting the morale of his employees to work for more.

“We are very happy and we are more challenged to work for more. Our campaign for transparency and corruption within the bureaucracy is starting to roll for clients’ satisfaction,” he said.

Bangcoy said the best gift from the customs central office for the Davao port is the construction of the P20-million new administration building that is set to start next month.

“This is an incentive for our port to be consistent in surpassing the revenue collection target,” he said. (ASA)
