2 “hot” Porsche sports cars recovered in Davao City

DAVAO CITY — Operatives of the Highway Patrol Group in Region XI have recovered two luxurious Porsche sports cars believed illegally smuggled in the country.

HPG 11 Director, Sr. Supt. Gregorio Pimentel, said the two cars were found at an autoshop at the back of the Victoria Plaza Mall along J.P. Laurel Avenue here Saturday.

Pimentel said initial investigation showed that the vehicles were left behind at the shop for some remodeling but was found to have questionable documents.

He said the cars were registered at the extension office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

Pimentel said a Porsche car could amount to P5 million each but should be registered with importation papers.

One of the vehicles bears the plate number KFF-351 while the other has no plate number.

He said charges are being readied for filing at the City Prosecutor’s Office against the owner.
